What is your definition of success?
Tera: Success is knowing your purpose, acting on it, and receiving a compensation for it that allows you to thrive.
What is the inspiration behind your brand?
Tera: My purpose to empower women is the inspiration behind my brand.
Do you believe in work-life balance? How do you maintain it?
Tera: Absolutely! Living by a calendar, a schedule, a to-do list of the most important things to me is how I maintain a work/life balance. For example, I was asked to participate in a women’s event the same day I had scheduled a getaway with friends and family to the Bahamas to see Janet Jackson in concert.
If you know me, you know the concert won out without a second thought. I will always receive invitations to lunches, brunches, awards, and conferences, and even if they stopped coming in today, I have already done enough. But, none of us know when spending time with our family and friend circle as we know it will end. So, the latter will always come first for me, unapologetically.
You have had a lot of success. Do you have any advice for new entrepreneurs?
Tera: Get clear on your vision and stay focused on it. When you don’t have a vision, every path is an option and when you don’t have a focus, it’s easy to get off track.
