What is the inspiration behind the work that you do?
Dr. JaQuinda: I really enjoy helping people, what I do I don’t take lightly. I know I often see people in a very vulnerable state. I hold space for them to work through their issues in order for them to become the best version of themselves and I seriously enjoy it. I wouldn’t want to do anything else in the world.
Do you believe in work-life balance? If so how do you maintain it?
Dr. JaQuinda: I do, however it is something that you have to be intentional about. I maintain it by having a personal phone and a work phone and I don’t answer my work phone when I’m not working. When I am home, I am a wife and mom. I stress the importance of being present with my client’s so I make sure that I am intentional about being present in my personal life.
What’s your best piece of advice for aspiring and new entrepreneurs?
Dr. JaQuinda: Write your plan out and make it plan. Find a mentor, do your work, and trust your gut. God has given you a vision and regardless of how many people are doing it, God specifically gave you a unique vision. Walk it out and seek guidance.
Who is your business role model? Why?
Dr. JaQuinda: Kobe Campbell, she is so authentic yet so relatable. She also has a way to say things in a very matter of fact way. I had the chance to interview her at my church and it was like talking to your best friend.
What would attract listeners to your personal story?
Dr. JaQuinda: I am real and I also am a product of trauma. However, I did my work. I meet people where they are and I am not scared to stand in the gap for someone.
