Since its founding in 2020, Soigne’ + Swank Magazine has represented the voices of Black, Indigenous, and People of Color (BIPOC) entrepreneurs and brands. We are proud to confer the inaugural class of our Readers’ Choice Brands to Know—celebrating the contributions of the BIPOC community that embody and exemplify excellence for the culture.
We invite you to nominate a BIPOC entrepreneur or brand for any of our Readers’ Choice categories by July 15, 2022. Self-nominations are, of course, accepted. Selections will be notified and included in the August 2022 National Black Business Month magazine issue.
Entrepreneur of the Year
This award recognizes an outstanding Entrepreneur for their achievements as an owner, innovator, creator and leader in the field of entrepreneurship. Nominees are dedicated to going above and beyond to support the BIPOC community.
Rising Star Brand
This award is given to TWO newly established entrepreneurs or brands, showing Black excellence in purpose and passion. Nominees are eligible if they are either: a) 2 years or less in business, or b) a kid-preneur.
Best in Arts, Culture and Entertainment
This award is given to TWO individuals or brands that are either BIPOC owned/operated/founded or co-founded, demonstrating excellence in a creative-based brand.
Best in Retail and Consumer Products
This award is given to TWO individuals or brands that are either BIPOC owned/operated/founded or co-founded, demonstrating excellence in a retail or consumer product-based business.
Best in Professional/Personal Services
This award is given to TWO individuals or brands that are either BIPOC owned/operated/founded or co-founded, demonstrating excellence in a professional or personal service-based business.
Best in Social Impact
This award recognizes TWO BIPOC owned/operated/founded or co-founded brands (either for-profit or non-profit) whose mission and values remain at the forefront of their business decisions and may include a fundraising or give-back model or environmentally/socially responsible product or service.
