According to FashionUnited.Com studies have shown that routine dressing rituals can also help people ward off thoughts that lead to anxiety and depression. Shaquin Thomas who is the Founder of the Frugally Fancy Fashion brand tells us that it doesn’t cost much to be fancy or fashionable. Be sure to follow Shaquin’s expeditions on Instagram @frugallyfancyfashion and Southern, Savvy, and Saving on Facebook for the hottest deals and all of her affordable fashion tips and finds.
Please tell us about Southern, Savvy, and Saving. Also, please share with us the hottest deals and affordable fashion finds you came across lately.
Shaquin: Southern, Savvy, and Saving is a Facebook group I created to share all the grocery store sales and deals, thrift store finds, local events and happenings, recipes, tips for moms, fashion inspiration, humor, and much more! One of the hottest deals I encountered was Starbucks coffee marked down to two bucks and I found a Hermes wallet at the Goodwill for four bucks!
What are the differences and similarities between your Southern, Savvy, and Saving & Frugally Fancy Fashion brands?
Shaquin: Frugally Fancy Fashion is specifically geared towards fashion, style, and anything related to clothes, beauty, and even home decor. Southern Savvy and Saving encompasses a larger range of topics, deals, thrifty trends, and more.
Would you say that looking your best makes you feel your best? If so, how?
Shaquin: I wholeheartedly believe that when you get cute, and put on a new outfit, you feel your best. It may be a mental thing but when I get my hair and nails done and shimmy into a cute thrifted sundress, the sun seems to shine a little brighter honey!
Happy Women’s History Month! What are some of your favorite must-have and historical women’s fashion accessories?
Shaquin: For me, women must have classic pieces. Timeless fashion is generally clothing that never seems to be outdated and isn’t a part of the ever-evolving trends. A simple, after-five black dress is a must-have in every woman’s closet. Be sure to accompany the little black dress with a cute black clutch!
What would you like our readers to know about your latest projects within the fashion industry?
Shaquin: I am working to plan a few Frugally Fancy Fashion events in which I host a few thrift bus tours. I would love for about 30 of my followers and I to load up on a bus and travel to local thrift stores and spend a few hours shopping, bonding, and more!
