Your journey from Haiti to becoming an internationally celebrated author and motivational speaker is nothing short of extraordinary. How has your upbringing shaped the person you are today and the mission you pursue?
My upbringing shaped the person that I am today because I grew up with the mindset instilled of hard work and putting God in the driver seat of whatever that I do in life. And because of that, I walk and manifest in my God given mission and purpose which is to empower others so they can be equipped to elevate fully into whom God created them to be with no limits.
Receiving three Presidential Lifetime Achievement Awards at such a young age is remarkable. What values or principles guided you to achieve this level of recognition so early in your career?
The values and principles that guided me to achieve this level of recognition at a young age is putting God first. Daily I tell God, I decrease so you can increase. Use me for your glory. You’re a God that turns my mess into messages, tests into testimonies and miseries into ministries so therefore, lead me and use me as a vessel to impact the lives you want me to impact. I placed my dreams, visions, and desires in the hands of God and if it’s his will for my life, I know he will bring it to fruition. God will do exceedingly abundantly above all that I can ask for or even imagine. I just focus on planting seeds and let God do the watering.
Your literary work has earned you global acclaim, including being named a top author to watch in 2024. Can you share the inspiration behind your writing and how you ensure your work remains impactful?
As a 7X author, an Amazon best selling author, international award winning author out of South Africa and the international impact book award winner for the inspirational category out of 120 entries, the inspiration behind my writing all comes from life trials and tribulations. I witness how God hold me together even when things around me wasn’t looking like it was together. I am a witness that no matter the storms and trials of life, God can turn it around for the good and because of that, I go down to share the message to others that they are born on purpose, for a purpose, and with a purpose. The way I ensure my work remains impactful is by being transparent and real and showing the scars of my own life so others can see, it’s not about what happens to you but it’s about how you respond to what happens to you.
You’ve been recognized as a transformational entrepreneur making a global impact. What advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs who want to create meaningful change in their communities?
The advice I would give to aspiring entrepreneurs who want to create meaningful change in their communities is just be the change you want to see. It starts with you first. Make sure the meaningful change starts with the man in the mirror so the seeds that are being planted in the community could be meaningful. Do the inner work before you do the outer work so you can be an example of what impact looks like.
From being featured alongside figures like Ice Cube and Ariana Grande to earning honors in South Africa, your influence spans continents and industries. How do you define success, and how has that definition evolved over time?
The way I define success is by the impact that is being made in someone’s life. My motto has always been, reach one, teach one and if one life is impacted, I call that a success. Overtime, I still define success as reach one, teach one, and it never changed.
In a world filled with distractions, what practices do you recommend for individuals who want to stay focused on their goals and live a life of purpose?
The best practice I recommend for individuals who want to stay focused on their goals and live a life of purpose is this; you have to be hungry for it and make sure you have a why that is bigger than your excuses. When excuses are in the driver seat, you can’t execute. And you have to have a why that makes you cry or else it will be filled with reasons why it can’t be done.
What is a question that you have never been asked before and how would you answer it?
One question I was never asked before was, how did you know that you were going to be a motivational speaker and an author? The way I would answer this question is like this; I had a vision at 13 years old and saw books and stages and I just believed what I saw at a young age via dreams. Because I saw it via dreams and visions, I submitted to God and told God, if it’s his will you will make it happen and open that door. At the age of 17 was the kick off to public speaking and speaking at a big conference called ASHA (American School Health Association). From there, I have been booked over and over again to speak either at a virtual conference or on the big stage.
With so much achieved by the age of 31, what are your dreams and goals for the next chapter of your life and career?
My dreams and goals for the next chapter of my life and career is to continue to do what I am doing now. Letting God direct my steps and open the doors he wants me to walk into. I want to have this book tour in the future that will be nationally and internationally.
