Woosah Bride Gets Us Excited For The Beginning of Wedding Season

Hello Soigne’ + Swank Magazine readers, It’s Wedding Season! Wedding season typically starts in spring and ends in early fall. We are thrilled to share with you a story of an extraordinary woman who helps other women during the wedding planning process.

Woosah Bride was founded in 2022 after the founder, Shonte’ Parrish Norgriff, and her husband experienced planning their wedding in 2021 during the pandemic. This brand is for those planning brides who may feel anxious, overwhelmed, or pressured to please everyone but themselves.

Woosah Bride was founded to create awareness for melanated brides and their support systems on the importance of prioritizing mental health. The goal is also to create a community specifically to uplift this change.

Woosah Bride has way more resources than any planner you’ve ever seen. They aim to provide a community of wellness professionals, past brides, seasoned married women and people who truly prioritize seeing you and your partner win so you can have the best planning process. The goal is to create habits that set the foundation to show up as your best self in a healthy marriage.

Please enjoy our interview!

What makes your business unique?

Shonte’ Parrish Norgriff: What makes the brand unique is we provide pre and post-marital counselors. Our clients are able to obtain advice and recommendations as a service specifically for melanated brides. Our contributors include several specialists in healthcare such as dermatologists, psychiatrists, general physicians, nutritionists, as well as intimacy and sex doctors, and more.

Also, our contributors include wedding industry professionals such as actual wedding planners, and contract and negotiations attorneys.

Please tell us about one of your featured products.

Shonte’ Parrish Norgriff: One of our featured products is a wellness wedding planner titled “Sis, let’s plan this wedding,” a survival guide for brides. It contains curated timelines and checklists for Eloping, Destination, Traditional, Frugal, and Luxe Black Brides.

Do you host events?

Shonte’ Parrish Norgriff: Absolutely! We will host events like Black Girl Bridal Expos that will allow melanated brides to have access to up-and-coming designers, and minority-owned vendors such as florists, photographers, venue owners, professional planners, etc. This event will be hosted like a family reunion with entertainment and art being included in the model.

What do you hope for Woosah Bride now and in the future?

Shonte’ Parrish Norgriff: We hope to bridge the gap between the glamour of planning your big day and the reality which involves learning how to set boundaries and take care of yourself.
